Application Tools

WHAT IS IT ?

"Application Tools" is a set of programs made to aid you in your everyday use of Windows®, in your software development, and in your graphics development. These utilities are a MUST HAVE for anyone who's serious about what they do in Windows®!

The Application Tools package includes the following utilities:

GENERAL WINDOWS UTILITIES:

Desktop Utility - Gives you access to Window's desktop settings (even if they have been disabled by an administrator)
Eject It - A small utility that conveniently opens and closes any CD-ROM door on your computer at the click of a mouse
Encrypt String - Encrypts and decrypts text using a powerful method of encryption
File Searcher - Quickly and efficiently searches for the specified file(s) on the specified drive(s)
Play Sounds - Quickly and efficiently browses and plays MIDI and WAVE files
Windows Handler - A powerful program that allows you to do whatever you like to whatever application is currently running. Make a window invisible, move the window off the screen, change the size of the window, make a window Always On Top, etc.
Compress It - Takes the selected file(s) and compresses their size to make storage or transportation of files easier and faster (NOTE: The file format of the output files is NOT compatible with standard ZIP formats)
File Search & Replace - Takes the selected files from a directory, opens them, and searches their contents for the specifies string. If it finds the specified string, it replaces it with the specified replacement. This makes updating specific information from multiple files quick and easy.
Strip Email Addresses - Takes the specified TEXT file and searches for Email addresses within it. It then returns it in a convenient list that can be used for other things.

GRAPHICS RELATED UTILITIES:

Get Color - Allows you to pick any color from the screen or from a color palette. The color picked is returned as (R,G,B), HEX, and Long Integer values for ease of use within graphics, web, or programming applications.
Get Distance - Allows you to easily get the distance between two points that you pick on the screen

PROGRAMMING RELATED UTILITIES:

Character List - Gives you a listing of all the ASCII characters, or displays Hexedecimal or Octal characters up to the range you specify
Clear VB - Clears all the "Recent Projects" listed in VB 5 and VB 6
Code Line Number (CLN) - Makes it easy to put line numbers in your VB code. This is very useful when taking advantage of the undocumented, yet very useful, debugging function "ERL"
Command Line Check (CLC) - Makes it easy to see what command line parameters are passed to any program
Convert Path - Converts any existing 32bit "Long File Name" to a 16bit (MS-DOS) "Short File Name"
Error List - Displays a list of all Visual Basic 5/6 run-time errors and their descriptions
Function Finder - Searches a specified library (DLL, OCX, TLB) for all of it's exported functions, or searches an entire directory and returns all matching exported functions from all libraries in that folder.
